Surrounded by his family, Jeremy Wilson Telling,  son of David and Christy Telling, husband of Renee', father to Olivia and Benjamin, brother of Michael and Jessica, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2012.

Jeremy was born December 18, 1977, in Redwood City, California. When he was 4 years old, his family moved to Carson City, Nevada, where he resided until moving to nearby Reno. Jeremy attended Carson High School and Western Nevada College.  Jeremy received a degree in Nursing from WNC and rapidly developed skills as an ICU nurse. Jeremy worked at Renown Hospital until moving to Portland Oregon where he was employed by Oregon Health and Science University Hospital.

While in Portland, Jeremy discovered a swelling in his leg that turned out to be a rare type of cancer called an osteosarcoma. After chemo, surgery, and radiation therapy, it was hoped that the cancer was under control, but in 2011, tumors appeared in his lungs, and later in his brain and abdomen. After numerous rounds of chemo and radiation, his body had weakened to the point that doctors said that they was nothing they could do medically. Despite the prayers of thousands of people, God did not answer those prayers as we all had asked.  Jeremy entered his eternal home after this two year battle.

We are grateful that Jeremy is now at peace, dancing with his Savior, who suffered more than we can imagine to give us the hope of new life. As we weep for Jeremy, we also rejoice that this is not the end - there is the sure hope of us seeing him again. I can already imagine him turning around and saying, "Oh, there you are - that was fast!"

A Celebration of Life  honoring Jeremy was held at the Old Laurelhurst Church in Portland on Saturday, September First. If you would like to view  the Memorial Service  video go to:

  3. To the entire Telling Family:
To say that Jeremy went to heaven is such a true statement about Jeremy. Jeremy touched so many lives -- and it seems sometimes that we lose the "good" guys which he definetely was. Many times I say that my students and former students touch my life -- more than I ever affect theirs. There is no way of knowing how many people he reached out to, loved, treated, and saved... but his life very definetely affected mine. Hugs and prayers to your family and never stop telling the wonderful, wacky, and touching "Jeremy" stories to all of your families. Sincerely, Robin L. Peri (Robin Williams-Auer)

  5. I was watching the slideshow video - I had forgotten so many of the scenes that were included, and so much of what Jeremy looked like when he was younger, and before cancer stole his life.Seeing the pictures of him with his brother and sister, and his wife and kids, weak, but still fighting, made me realize how blessed I am to have not just one, but three wonderful children. We don't have answers to the "whys", but I know that God will make a way to bring goodness out of this grief. If you have not confessed your sins and repented, and turned your life over to Jesus, I urge you to do this - only He can truly ease the suffering and pain of this life.

  7. Jeremy, I was just thinking about you as I went through our year book. You were an amazing friend to me in in 1987 & 1988. I am sad to learn of your passing and want your family to know what a great friend you were to me. Such great memories I will treasure and write to make sure that they are never forgotten in my journal. My deepest condolences to your entire family.
